The Sustainable Cities Design Academy:
2013 Call for Applications

The American Architectural Foundation (AAF) announces the Sustainable Cities Design Academy’s (SCDA) 2013 Call for Applications and encourages public-private partnership project teams to apply. Successful applicants will join AAF for one of two design workshops in Washington, DC:

  • June 5-7, 2013
  • September 11-13, 2013

SCDA connects project teams and multi-disciplinary sustainable design experts through highly interactive design workshops that help project teams advance their green infrastructure and community development goals. To support a diverse portfolio of SCDA projects, United Technologies Corporation generously underwrites participants’ attendance costs.

In April 2012, project teams from Brooklyn, Fresno, Macon, and New Haven joined AAF in San Francisco for the eighth national session of SCDA.

Past SCDA project team participants include:

Philadelphia Navy Yard
Mariposa Corridor, Fresno, CA
Mill River District, New Haven, CT
Parcel 24, Chinatown, Boston
Peñuelas Solar Park, Puerto Rico
Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse, Atlanta
Uptown Triangle Revitalization Plan, Seattle
