AAF Receives $50K Bequest from Ethel Belinky

Lois Jean Noe presents Ron Bogle, AAF’s President & CEO, with Ethel Belinky’s check for $50,000.

On August 13, AAF received a generous bequest from Mrs. Ethel Belinky in the amount of $50,000 that was personally delivered by her good friend, Mrs. Lois Noe. Upon her death at the age of 100, Mrs. Belinky bequeathed these funds to AAF for use in establishing a fellowship in honor of her son, Charles D. Belinky, an architect who obtained his degree in architecture at the University of Cincinnati and practiced in the DC metro area. During Mrs. Noe’s visit to AAF’s offices she shared touching stories of Ethel’s zest for life and even the secret to her longevity!

AAF is honored to receive this especially meaningful gift for the creation of the Charles D. Belinky Fellowship, which will support internships at AAF for first- and second-year architecture students. AAF looks forward to welcoming our first student intern at our offices in 2010. We would like to thank Mrs. Noe for providing AAF with a unique glimpse into both Ethel's extraordinary life, as well as the architectural accomplishments of her son, Charles. We are thrilled that Mrs. Belinky chose AAF as the recipient of this substantial bequest and are certain that our continued work educating individuals about the power of architecture will pay tribute to Charles and the work that he achieved during his lifetime. Gifts such as this bring special meaning to AAF's work as we continue to expand our programs and fulfill our mission.
