Report from the Design for Learning Forum: School Design and Student Learning in the 21st Century

Presented by the American Architectural Foundation and Target

This new resource for community leaders, educators and designers provides ten findings that explore the connection between design and student achievement. The 62-page publication titled School Design and Student Learning in the 21st Century is intended to help communities and leaders understand the important role of school design in student learning and create schools that benefit both students and teachers. The findings represent the work of experts in the design and education fields at the Design for Learning Forum, held in October 2006 at Target headquarters in Minneapolis. The Forum was a follow-up to AAF’s National Summit on School Design, where participants recommended an in-depth study of the relationship between design and student achievement.
